Rancho San Antonio....

....has multiple trails with distictive features to pick & choose from ~ the trail described below is perfect for an evening walk/jog/hike a mix n match of sorts ~ so call it what you may , it isn`t a flat out trail but is a combination of uphill ,downhill & a flat-out breather inbetween - giving you a perfect workout ~

The Equestrian Parking lot is the most convenient for this trail ~ well ahem although it is meant only for them Equestrains :)

Do not under any circumstances expect the parking lot to be empty or almost empty ever! Infact depending on what time you decide to venture out you may have to wait for upto 15 mins before finally finding a spot ~ but find parking you will because of the constant flow of people finishing up their hikes & heading back home-sweet-home ~ The trail head with it`s wooden railing to strech before you begin, a map of the entire park , water has all the basic necessities to equip you for an amazing hike :)

Start walking towards Coyotte trail - it`s a short uphill walk, at the end of which the trail forks into PGNE & Coyotte trail.Well unless you are really fit & have built up your endurance I suggest stick to Coyotte trail (experience is the best teacher :) well PGNE trail has elevation of omigosh i dunno how many 1000`s of ft - I did dare to tread on it once - well actually it isn`t that tough but it definetly isn`t a beginners trail - try it only after about a month of steady hiking & go well stocked with water/snacks/gatorade -heck whatever you need to accomplish it ) ~ continue on Coyotte trail & at 1.1 miles you hit the Wildcat loop trail which continue for about 0.4 miles at the end of which you reach a juncture - you can continue deeper into the woods or turn back on the same trail & head to the parking lot.Well this isn`t a typical 2-3 hour hike that I normally do but more of an end of the day *squeeze in some fitness routine* kind of a thing - the total length is approximately 3 miles & takes arround an hour to acomplish.

Here are some more pictures ~ multiple parking lots, tonssss of homes surrounding this preserve makes it a very popular spot~ definetly not a trail for people looking for solitude in the wilderness. Being located right in the center of south bay this preserve has it`s fair share of foot traffic & more ~ no complains from me though ,yup quite like it that way ,close to nature & yet not too far from civilization :D ...I know a lot of my friends would agree to disagree on this though :D but oh well *i like it this way* hehehe....

Do u notice that guy running ! dang i wonder when I will graduate to doing that ~ like run trails for 30mins at a stretch ~
